About Amie

Principal Consultant | Organizational Strategist | Educator

Amie Riley Ed.D. is a seasoned consultant and systems thinker with over 20 years of experience advancing community-rooted leadership, equitable education, and regenerative practice. Based in Portland, Oregon, she partners with nonprofit leaders, educators, and place-based initiatives to cultivate just, resilient systems that center people, land, and possibility.

Her global journey began in rural Washington and led through Boston, Central America, Europe, and Asia—teaching, facilitating, and organizing at the intersections of anti-racism, land stewardship, food justice, and community-based learning. She now draws from this depth of experience to support leaders navigating systemic challenges with clarity and care.

Her work spans from grassroots initiatives in Nicaragua—where she founded Casa Verde, a youth leadership and sustainability program—to strategic consulting for national organizations in climate resilience, public health, and education. Amie brings a rare ability to hold complexity, facilitate cross-cultural dialogue, and design structures that support long-term, equity-driven change.

With a doctorate in Educational Leadership and extensive training and experience with systems design and anti-oppression facilitation, she supports mission-driven organizations in aligning values with structure, and strategy with impact. She currently teaches at Portland State University and collaborates nationally on projects that center equity, ecology, and education. Her work often explores how human systems can mirror the resilience of natural systems—and how relationships with land and each other can become the foundation for transformational change.

Amie’s work is deeply informed by the spiritual dimensions of sustainability, grief, and sanctuary. After the loss of pregnancy and motherhood, she was drawn to explore the fertility that emerges amid personal and cultural unraveling. With place-based approaches rooted in storytelling, imagination practice, and ancestral care, she invites deep and playful engagement with our emerging horizons.

Deeply inspired by the forests, waters, and more-than-human beings she grew up among, Amie’s work is rooted in a reverence for interconnection. She leads with humility, grounded care, and an unwavering belief in collective transformation.
