Welcome to

a three-part gathering series unfolding this spring.
Gather to nourish the futures we imagine:
April 12, May 17, and June 7,
from 2–6 PM
Together, as neighbors, we cultivate shared practices and relationships that tend the worlds we are building through story, movement, renewal, and creativity.

The Three Gatherings
Through reflection, conversation, movement, song, and shared food, we practice together, cultivating gratitude, presence, and readiness.
Gathering One
Imaginations Unfolding: Ancestral Play and Futures Practice

April 12
We explore imagination as a shared practice — guided by ancestors, ecological elements, and the journeys our bodies and kin carry within them. Through playful webs of story, gesture, and perspective, we cultivate gratitude and open space for the futures unfolding among us.
Gathering Two
The Fertility of Grief: Leaks, Chasms and Monsters

May 17
Where loss becomes soil for stories, rhythms, and shared imaginings, we tend the chasms and monsters within us — together, with tea, story, and the music of the written word. Through reflection and connection, we honor grief as a generative force, opening room for emergent possibility.
Gathering Three
The Somatics of Nourishment: Story and Seed

June 7
Gather to taste, move gently, and remember: nourishing our bodies, relationships, and connection to land and kin. Through food, story, and somatic practice, we explore how care for ourselves and each other nourishes the worlds we are helping to grow.
This work is emergent and co-created.
Your perspectives, practices, and imagination matter.
Attend one gathering if that is what calls to you. Attend all three if you can — your ongoing presence will deepen connections, weave more meaning across gatherings, and allow relationships and ideas to grow richer over time.
Your presence matters — to this work, to this time, and to one another.
What to Expect
The Readying Table gathers people, and more-than-human kin, from across the city and region to gently nourish new sanctuaries of becoming. Each gathering is both refuge* and seedbed: a space to nourish, remember, and ready ourselves, together.

You will encounter:
Generative Cross-Pollinating Conversation
Exchange ideas and offer care across sectors, neighborhoods, and perspectives.
A Refuge for Abundance
Amid scarcity and fear, we will focus on possibility, creativity, and hope.
Embodied Practices
This is readiness — not anxious preparation. An embodied orientation toward what’s emerging and the futures we are building together.

* In ecology, refugia are places where life persists and adapts — tucked under logs, floating in the eddy, between stones... small, sheltered strongholds that sustain possibility through disruption.
You Are Invited
Our table is for anyone engaged in creative, caring, and future-building work:
+ Educators (K–higher education, early childhood, outdoor and experiential educators)
+ Creatives (musicians, dancers, choreographers, poets, visual artists)
+ Land & food sovereignty stewards, farmers, growers
+ Movement builders, policy makers, and public service practitioners
Who will you bring?
Who shares your vision?

Who inspires you?
Brought to you by Amie Riley
Many of you I know personally, and this invitation comes from my heart. The Readying Table is an offering to honor so many of you doing courageous, creative, and caring work, born of the relationships, work, and communities we are part of. You are the refugia, quietly (and sometimes loudly) sustaining possibility in our world.
This space is offered because I trust in our capacity to nourish one another, to share ideas, stories, and practices, and to co-create a community that strengthens what is possible. If you’ve been invited by someone you trust, know that the Readying Table will emerge from care, reciprocity, and intentional connection, and that your presence matters.
